Just over the famous Seven Mile Bridge offers some of the most secluded property you can find in the Florida Keys without owning your own private estate. Many Big Pine homes are on private wooded lots on quiet side roads, far from the commotion of Highway US1. The tall key extends far north toward the Key Deer Refuge on its Gulf side, providing extensive land for single-family homes in Big Pine Key to enjoy wilderness as part of their island lifestyle.

Much of the diving and snorkeling done at nearby Looe Key Reef is easily accessed from homes on Big Pine Key. The center of Big Pine offers shopping convenience and is generally considered the hub of the Lower Keys between Marathon and Key West.
